Papaya Ex

Nigerian influencer Abike Raheem, widely recognized as Papaya Ex, has accused a police officer of physically assaulting her during a late-night encounter in Lagos’ Ajah district.

The social media star recounted the harrowing experience during a tearful TikTok livestream, revealing the altercation took place as she returned from a film set.

What began as a routine stop escalated dramatically when the officer allegedly became aggressive, striking her face with a firearm and roughing up her chauffeur.

Papaya Ex further asserted she endured inappropriate physical contact before having her smartphone forcibly confiscated.

While no footage of the alleged attack exists, the content creator displayed facial injuries during her broadcast, attributing them to the officer’s actions.

Her driver reportedly suffered similar mistreatment during the confrontation, with the officer allegedly seizing her mobile device in the scuffle.

Social media posts from the influencer described a violent carjacking-like scenario, with graphic details about her injuries.

One emotional post read: “nigeriapoliceforce an officer attacked me inside my vehicle 😭😭😭😭 used his weapon on me… currently bleeding in Ajah.”

Subsequent online videos showed a heated verbal exchange between Papaya Ex and an unidentified man presumed to be law enforcement.

The precise circumstances triggering the dispute remain unclear as investigations continue.

In the viral footage, a visibly distressed Papaya Ex claimed Ajah residents routinely experience police misconduct, describing systemic harassment in the neighborhood.

Lagos police authorities have yet to issue an official statement addressing these serious allegations.
