Taye Arimoro has taken legal action against fellow Nollywood star Peggy Ovire, demanding ₦100 million in damages and a public retraction following a violent confrontation during a film shoot earlier this November.

Court filings obtained on November 18, 2025, from Inibehe Effiong Chambers detail how Arimoro’s contractual obligations concluded at midnight on November 11. He alleges being forcibly prevented from departing the location despite repeated requests.

The complaint states that production staff barricaded Arimoro’s vehicle while an unidentified car obstructed the exit gate. Fearing for his safety amid verbal threats, the actor activated Instagram Live to document events.

Matters reportedly worsened when Ovire and a group intercepted Arimoro at the estate’s entrance. Legal documents cite deliberate tyre deflation, physical restraint, and multiple assailants surrounding the actor.

Medical reports referenced in the lawsuit catalogue severe injuries including a fractured jaw, bite wounds, and extensive bruising. Arimoro further alleges unauthorized access to his mobile device during the altercation.

The legal team contends these actions violated constitutional rights to freedom of movement, personal security, and human dignity, compounded by psychological distress and professional repercussions.

Key demands include:

• An unedited video apology across Ovire’s social platforms

• ₦100,000,000 compensation for damages

Respondents have one week to acknowledge the claims. Ovire remains silent on the allegations at press time.
