Veteran Nollywood actor and director Saheed Balogun recently revealed a heartwarming gesture by President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Remi Tinubu during his darkest hour.

In an exclusive chat with OYINMOMO TV, the screen icon shared how Nigeria’s first family intervened after a devastating accident left him fighting for his life.

Balogun disclosed that the presidential couple personally arranged for his medical evacuation abroad, though he eventually received excellent care within Nigeria. Their unexpected kindness deeply moved the actor, prompting him to question their motivation.

“I’ll never forget asking the First Lady why they took such interest in my wellbeing,” Balogun recounted. “Her response transformed my perspective on compassion and humanity.”

The veteran thespian described how Mrs. Tinubu’s words — “God created you as a shining star and we can’t let your light fade” — reshaped his worldview. This encounter taught him the universal principle of divine reciprocity in human kindness.

“After the crash, President Tinubu and his wife immediately made arrangements for my treatment overseas,” Balogun recalled. “Though I was treated here, their concern overwhelmed me. The First Lady’s explanation — that helping others attracts divine protection for your own — became my life’s philosophy.”
