Nigerian media personality Denrele Edun has bared his soul about his love life and personal identity in a revealing interview.
Speaking on The Moraya Show, the eccentric star confessed that his romantic endeavors have been fraught with disappointment, as partners fail to match his level of devotion.
“Love hasn’t been kind to me. Those of us who pour so much love into the world rarely receive it back in equal measure. I’ve searched for it in different places and people, only to realize that self-love is my safest bet now.
“Every meaningful connection I’ve cherished has fallen short of my expectations. At this point, I’ve decided to prioritize loving myself,” he revealed.
Edun maintained that he isn’t to blame for his romantic misfortunes, describing himself as an open-hearted individual.
“Loving me is effortless—I have boundless affection to offer,” he stated.
“Recently, I was involved with someone, and once again, I noticed a pattern: whenever I made an effort, excuses followed. This has been a recurring theme in my love life. While I strive for transparency, I’m met with uncertainty.
“I invest fully, yet reciprocity is absent. It became clear that my partner was merely taking advantage of my devotion,” he added.
The entertainer also addressed speculation about his sexuality, acknowledging that he has experienced “the best of both worlds.”
