Reports indicate that Eric Chelle, head coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, has not received his salary and bonuses for the past three months from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The disclosure came from BBC Sport journalist Oluwashina Okeleji, who shared the news on his X platform earlier today.
Despite the financial delay, Chelle has reportedly refrained from formally addressing the issue with the NFF.
“Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle remains unpaid for three months, including bonuses, as the team prepares for AFCON,” Okeleji stated.
“The Malian tactician, who secured Nigeria’s spot in the 2026 World Cup playoffs, has not officially raised concerns with the federation regarding the overdue payments.”
Chelle faces a tight deadline, with his final 28-man squad for the tournament due by Wednesday, December 10.
