Ned Nwoko

Delta North Senator Ned Nwoko has vowed to take legal action against social media personality Timothy Gabriel for what he describes as defamatory and false allegations targeting both him and his wife, actress Regina Daniels.

The announcement came via a statement issued by the Ned Nwoko Media Directorate and shared with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Saturday.

Nwoko revealed that Gabriel openly taunted him and his wife to respond, effectively inviting litigation—a challenge he has now accepted.

He emphasized that no one has the right to spread unfounded, offensive accusations and then avoid responsibility by hiding behind social media theatrics or public demonstrations.

“We are fully aware of the toxic, baseless, and damaging statements made by Timothy Gabriel, also known as Tuma, along with his attempts to disguise reckless behavior as activism or media freedom.

“Gabriel repeatedly spread malicious falsehoods about Regina Daniels, my wife—a celebrated actress—and myself, deliberately aiming to provoke, inflame tensions, and tarnish reputations.

“No democratic society tolerates defamation, blackmail, or hate speech under the pretense of free expression.

“The digital world is not a lawless space. Those who believe they can destroy reputations without consequences are in for a rude awakening.

“My legal team, also representing Regina Daniels-Nwoko, is pursuing every available legal avenue to hold Gabriel and his supporters accountable.

“This includes both criminal and civil defamation lawsuits, backed by irrefutable evidence.

“His outrageous claims regarding paternity, ethics, and fabricated ‘proof’ are not just false—they are legally actionable and morally reprehensible,” Nwoko declared.

The senator warned that those defending Gabriel’s actions under the guise of human rights must recognize that free speech does not permit lies and character assassination.

“Gabriel and any accomplices should brace for the full force of the law. This battle won’t be fought online—it will unfold in court, where facts and justice prevail.

“Let this serve as a clear message: defamation is not activism, and I will ensure this distinction is firmly established in a court of law,” he asserted.
