Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North, has stirred fresh debate with a surprising revelation about his marriage to actress Regina Daniels.
The lawmaker denied actively pursuing Regina, asserting that their union was initiated by her mother, Rita Daniels.
This statement comes amid ongoing public scrutiny following Regina’s recent allegations of domestic abuse and her decision to end their marriage.
Regina had accused Ned of mistreatment, prompting him to counter with claims of her alleged substance abuse and insisting on rehabilitation.
The dispute escalated as critics questioned the senator’s marriage to Regina, with many alleging she was underage when they wed—a claim Ned firmly refutes.
In an official statement released by his Communication and Technical Action Team, Ned clarified Regina’s age during their marriage, emphasizing that she was 19, not 17, at the time.
He reinforced his position by stating that witnesses can confirm Rita Daniels introduced Regina to him, dismissing accusations of pursuing her.
“Regina Daniels was born on October 10, 2000. Our six-year marriage means she was 19, not 17, when we wed. The public ceremony featured her family’s participation.
“Her mother personally facilitated the union—I never sought her out,” Ned asserted.
