Actress Mercy Johnson Okojie sparked controversy with claims that Regina Daniels wed billionaire Ned Nwoko as a minor. The assertion has drawn sharp rebuttals from insiders close to the couple.

A top aide to Delta State Governor has debunked viral rumors about actress Regina Daniels’ marital age. Ossai Ovie Success, in a fiery response, refuted Mercy Johnson’s assertion that Daniels was only 17 when she married politician Ned Nwoko.

The disagreement stems from a recent Instagram post where Mercy alleged the Nollywood star was underage during her traditional marriage ceremony. However, Ovie insists the timeline doesn’t add up, presenting what he claims are verifiable facts about the union.

According to official records shared by the governor’s aide:

“Mercy Johnson must correct this misinformation immediately. Regina Daniels was born October 10, 2000, and married Ned in 2019 – making her 19 at the time of marriage.”

The political aide didn’t stop at correcting the age discrepancy. He expressed dismay about what he called “toxic narratives” threatening the couple’s relationship. His Facebook statement continued:

“Every marriage faces challenges, but spreading falsehoods helps no one. Why fuel unnecessary controversy when Regina and Ned clearly share genuine affection?”

Accompanying his rebuttal were photos presumably documenting the couple’s timeline:
