Andrew Ahmed Alkali, the esteemed Chairman of Nasarawa United’s Feeder Team, has tragically passed away following a short battle with illness.
Alkali succumbed to his condition on Wednesday at a medical facility in Abuja.
Mr. Eche Amos, the Director of Public Relations for Nasarawa State’s Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, officially confirmed the heartbreaking news on Thursday.
In an official release, Amos highlighted Alkali’s exceptional leadership, emphasizing how the Feeder Team flourished under his guidance. Notably, seven players were recently scouted by the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) after their standout performance in the NPFL U-19 Youth Championship in Kano.
“Andrew’s unwavering commitment to nurturing young athletes left an indelible mark on Nigerian football. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations,” the statement expressed.
The ministry offered heartfelt sympathies to Alkali’s loved ones and associates, wishing his soul eternal peace.
