Renowned Yoruba actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has shared the painful details behind the collapse of his marriage in a candid podcast discussion.
During an emotional conversation on Talk to B, hosted by actress Biola Adebayo, the veteran actor recounted how his efforts to support his wife’s overseas education backfired tragically.
Baba Ijesha revealed that their union began harmoniously, with no signs of discord—until his wife expressed her desire to study abroad.
Eager to support her ambitions, he meticulously arranged her travel, securing her visa, booking flights, and ensuring all preparations were complete.
But what followed shattered his trust. Shortly after her departure, he discovered her true motive wasn’t education—but rekindling a past relationship overseas.
The betrayal blindsided him, ultimately leading to the dissolution of their marriage.
He recounted: “Our marriage was peaceful—no issues at all. Then she mentioned wanting to pursue a master’s degree in the UK. I handled everything: visa, ticket, travel arrangements.
“Little did I know, it was all a ruse. She had another man waiting there, and her trip had nothing to do with studies.”
