Belano revealed in a candid online post how he once earned just N30,000 per month as both a school principal and teacher while courting his American sweetheart.
Now happily settled in the US with his wife and child, he shared this heartfelt story on his X account this week.
“During her visit to my school, I was managing the entire institution while teaching Maths, Physics, and Further Maths. All for just 30,000 naira a month,” he confessed.
When asked how he funded his wedding on such modest means, Belano explained how careful savings and generous friends made everything possible.
“Our beautiful wedding didn’t reach 500k. I nearly sold my phone for the ring! A kind follower sent 50k which covered my suit and her ring – though the plating wore off in weeks. She treasures it to this day, despite better replacements. Friends handled decorations pro bono, the venue was complimentary, and family helped with food. Total expenses? Under 300k!” he revealed.
