Chelsea center-back Tosin Adarabioyo has shared details about his Nigerian heritage, confirming his father originates from Lagos State.
Born in England’s capital, the footballer additionally mentioned his maternal roots trace back to Ekiti State.
These revelations came as he discussed his career progression and his connection with fellow Chelsea player Cole Palmer.
“My mother’s family comes from Ekiti. We intend to visit and explore her hometown,” Adarabioyo stated during an Arise News interview.
“My older sibling knows more about our family history, but I can confirm my father’s side is Lagosian.”
“Though born in London, I grew up in Manchester. Cole [Palmer] and I share that Mancunian background – we came through Manchester City’s youth system together and have mutual friends.”
The defender recently met with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu during an official visit.
