Slimcase, the renowned Nigerian skitmaker, has issued a public apology to the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) for unauthorized use of the agency’s uniform and waste truck in a recent comedy video.
The artist emphasized that his intention was to honor the value of labor, demonstrating that no job, including waste collection, should be overlooked or disrespected.
He stressed that the skit was independently produced without any involvement from LAWMA and was not meant to mock or misrepresent the agency or its employees.
Slimcase confirmed the video’s removal from all platforms on December 8, 2025, following concerns raised by authorities, and assured the public that no modified versions exist.
He reiterated his admiration for LAWMA’s efforts in maintaining Lagos’s cleanliness and vowed to be more mindful in future creative endeavors.
In his statement, he wrote: “APOLOGY TO THE LAGOS STATE WASTE MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY (LAWMA) AND ITS PARTNERS REGARDING THE RECENT VIDEO FEATURING THEIR UNIFORM AND TRUCK… I accept full responsibility.
“The concept was entirely mine, and I promptly took down the video on December 8, 2025, once concerns were brought to my attention.
“My goal was never to belittle or misrepresent LAWMA, its team, or the Lagos State Government. Instead, I aimed to celebrate hard work and reinforce that every occupation, including sanitation, is honorable and worthy of appreciation.
“At no point did I imply LAWMA’s endorsement, and no alternate versions of the video are being shared.”
