Popular Nigerian comedian and actor Debo Adedayo, widely recognized as Mr Macaroni, has vehemently denied a disturbing rape allegation leveled against him by a social media user.
An anonymous user on the platform 𝕏 made the incendiary claim, asserting that Macaroni sexually assaulted a minor and subsequently intimidated the victim’s family using law enforcement.
The post read, “This so-called activist allegedly raped a 17-year-old girl and then used the police to bully her family into silence.”
Macaroni swiftly clapped back, identifying the accuser as a staunch supporter of President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He emphasized that this wasn’t the first time he’d faced malicious attacks for criticizing the government.
In his sharp rebuttal, he stated, “Ordinarily, I’d ignore such baseless claims to avoid amplifying them. But this accusation is too vile to overlook. Unsurprisingly, this individual is a Tinubu/APC apologist.
“Their playbook is predictable—attack critics with lies. But fabricating a rape allegation crosses every line of human decency. No one should weaponize sexual violence to undermine activists holding power to account.
“From their profile, it’s clear they’re a rabid government cheerleader who viciously targets dissenters. If you recognize this troll or have details about their identity, I urge you to assist in pursuing legal action.
“Let this response serve as my categorical denial of this grotesque smear campaign. Expect more desperate attacks—I won’t stop calling out this failed administration’s atrocities.”
