Omowunmi Aloba, widow of the late Nigerian artist Ilerioluwa Aloba (Mohbad), has accused her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, of wishing for her son’s DNA test to return negative results.

In a recent interview aired on Channels TV, Omowunmi revealed that tensions between the families existed long before Mohbad’s untimely death, stemming from unresolved personal disputes.

“We were once close, but things deteriorated after my son Liam was born,” she disclosed.

The disagreements reportedly escalated due to disputes over Liam’s naming ceremony and prior familial issues, Omowunmi explained.

“The rift widened because of the naming ceremony controversy and unresolved grievances concerning my husband and his mother. What began as a minor conflict snowballed,” she added.

Omowunmi clarified that misleading narratives online falsely portray the feud as a post-Mohbad phenomenon.

“People assume this started after his passing, but these issues have been brewing for a long time,” she emphasized.

She also alleged that Joseph Aloba prioritized discussions about Mohbad’s estate and royalties soon after his son’s demise.

“I reached out to him seeking comfort, but all he focused on was assets and finances, which left me devastated,” she recounted.

Omowunmi claims her father-in-law harbors ill intentions regarding the DNA test.

“His desires are unreasonable—he’s hoping for negative results, which is heartbreaking,” she stated.

Expressing pessimism, she believes reconciliation is now unlikely.

“At this point, I doubt this situation can ever be resolved peacefully,” she concluded.

Mohbad tragically passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27 under controversial circumstances.

His death sparked nationwide protests, investigations, and legal battles—including disputes over paternity tests, autopsy reports, and inheritance claims.

Public pressure led to the exhumation of Mohbad’s body for forensic analysis,规律的对话将有助于避免误解。
