Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba has taken decisive legal action at the Lagos State High Court, ensuring the Probate Registry denies Letters of Administration to anyone outside the rightful heirs of Mohbad’s estate.

Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, widow of the late Afrobeats sensation Ilerioluwa Aloba (Mohbad), has moved to legally safeguard her late husband’s estate from unauthorized access.

By filing a formal objection with the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja, she aims to ensure no illegitimate party obtains Letters of Administration over Mohbad’s assets.

Court documents reveal that Salawu, Akingbolu & Co., acting on her behalf, submitted the necessary legal forms—Form 5 and Form 6—effectively preventing any unauthorized distribution of the estate.

The affidavit, signed by I. P. Awo (Esq.), solidifies Omowunmi’s position as the late artist’s legal spouse and mother to his sole surviving heir, Liam Aloba.

Public notices published in national newspapers reinforced her stance, warning against any: “illicit schemes to manipulate the estate’s distribution outside lawful procedures.”

Her legal representatives emphasized that the court’s records now reflect her claim, barring any unlawful interference while the estate undergoes proper administration.

They further cautioned that no attempts to circumvent due process would be tolerated, particularly since: “The deceased’s immediate family remains entitled to his estate.”

The development follows heightened scrutiny over Mohbad’s legacy, fueled by disputes and public speculation regarding the management of his assets posthumously.
