Ex-Super Eagles midfielder John Mikel Obi has suggested that Chelsea might pull off a surprise victory against Paris Saint-Germain in the upcoming Club World Cup final on Sunday.

The European giants will clash in New Jersey, competing for the title in the tournament’s newly expanded format.

PSG secured their spot with a dominant 4-0 win over Real Madrid in the semi-finals, while Chelsea advanced with a 2-0 triumph against Fluminense.

Despite Luis Enrique’s Treble-winning side being the favorites, Mikel Obi shared his belief in Chelsea’s chances during an interview on talkSPORT: “If any squad can challenge this PSG team, it’s Chelsea.

“Our current form and the quality of our young, dynamic squad give us a real fighting chance.

“One of our biggest strengths is our athleticism—speed, strength—and that matches up well against them.”
