Popular Nollywood star Mercy Johnson Okojie has publicly demanded justice following the controversial detention of Samuel West, the sibling of actress Regina Daniels.
The actress took to Instagram to express her dismay, urging authorities to release Sammy immediately.
The arrest follows escalating tensions between Regina Daniels and her high-profile spouse, Senator Ned Nwoko, sparking widespread concern among fans and colleagues.
In a now-viral Instagram story, another family member, Sweezy, revealed that Sammy has been denied basic rights—including legal representation and access to necessities—since his detention.
Sweezy further alleged that Senator Nwoko intends to keep Sammy imprisoned until Regina returns to their marital home, raising questions about due process.
On Wednesday, Mercy Johnson amplified the outcry, condemning the secrecy surrounding Sammy’s arrest and questioning the legality of his treatment.
She wrote passionately: “Silence in the face of injustice is complicity. A young man vanishes into custody—no lawyer, no contact, no transparency. Nigeria, must we normalize this? #FreeSamuelOjelagewu.”
