NURTW President Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has publicly appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to pardon Fuji icon Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (K1 De Ultimate) following a recent aviation controversy.
The musician found himself embroiled in conflict after clashing with airline staff during a dispute over alcohol consumption aboard a domestic flight.
Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) representative Obiageli Orah confirmed the incident stemmed from K1 allegedly attempting to bring prohibited alcoholic beverages onboard, sparking tension with cabin crew members.
Aviation authorities responded decisively, with NCAA and Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo imposing a half-year flight restriction on Kwam 1 across all air travel routes while investigations continue.
Taking to social media, MC Oluomo petitioned Nigeria’s leadership for compassion, addressing his Instagram appeal directly to President Tinubu, NCAA chief Capt. Chris Najomo, and Minister Keyamo.
His heartfelt message read:
“As National President of NURTW, I humbly implore our respected President to extend clemency toward Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, who has demonstrated sincere remorse following the airport incident. Like the biblical prodigal son, K1 has taken responsibility for his actions and seeks reconciliation.
“I earnestly request aviation authorities to reconsider the travel restrictions placed on both K1 and pilot Oluranti Ogoyi following the Abuja airport encounter, weighing justice with compassionate understanding.”
