Kylian Mbappé has boldly declared his belief in clinching the prestigious Ballon d’Or this year.

The newly signed Real Madrid superstar expressed unwavering confidence in his candidacy during a recent interview.

Mbappé, 27, dominated the global stage last season—finishing as the highest scorer in both the UEFA Champions League and La Liga while also topping the charts at the FIFA World Cup.

His staggering tally included 25 league goals, 15 in Europe’s elite competition, and 10 on football’s grandest stage, cementing his legacy as the World Cup’s all-time leading scorer with 22 strikes.

However, silverware eluded the French sensation. France fell short in the World Cup semifinals, while Real Madrid stumbled in La Liga and suffered a Champions League quarterfinal exit against Bayern Munich.

“The Ballon d’Or celebrates individuals, not teams,” Mbappé asserted during an RFI radio interview.

“Spectacular performances and unforgettable moments define this honor. I’ve proven myself as the most lethal scorer across every major tournament—this could be my moment.”

His path to glory faces fierce challengers. Reigning winner Rodri Hernandez lifted both the World Cup with Spain and last year’s Ballon d’Or.

Barcelona’s young stars Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres claimed domestic and international success, while PSG’s Ousmane Dembélé and Georgian marvel Khvicha Kvaratskhelia swept France’s honors alongside Champions League triumph.

English sharpshooter Harry Kane also staked his claim after guiding Bayern Munich to Bundesliga glory.

Mbappé remains determined to bring football’s most coveted individual prize back to the Spanish capital.

The 2024 Ballon d’Or ceremony will unfold on October 26th at London’s glittering awards gala.
