May Edochie, the estranged spouse of renowned Nollywood star Yul Edochie, has escalated her legal battle by demanding ₦1 billion in compensation from ex-lawyer Emeka Ugwuonye for alleged defamation and relentless cyberbullying.
She has also served him with a stern cease-and-desist order through her legal team.
In a strongly worded letter issued by Graylaw Partners, May accused Ugwuonye of orchestrating a vicious online campaign against her, spreading fabricated claims across his social media channels.
The document asserts that his posts go beyond defamation, morphing into targeted harassment, deliberate character assassination, and even inciting threats to her personal safety through baseless accusations.
Additionally, the letter alleges that Ugwuonye manipulated others to amplify his damaging rhetoric, exponentially worsening the harm inflicted on May’s reputation and well-being.
Her demands include an immediate halt to all defamatory posts, removal of existing content, a public apology, and a retraction across his platforms—alongside the staggering ₦1 billion damages claim.
