Legal representative Emeka Ugwuonye has categorically dismissed rumors of an apology letter from May Edochie to her estranged husband, Yul Edochie.

The attorney clarified the situation during a recent online briefing.

Ugwuonye stressed that May remains committed to finalizing her divorce and securing compensation for marital infidelity.

“The idea of an apology is baseless. May initiated the divorce; Yul had his chance to contest but didn’t. His preference for polygamy speaks for itself,” he asserted.

The lawyer further suggested that Yul, not May, should be seeking forgiveness for introducing polygamy into their union, ultimately causing its collapse.

He advised the public to ignore unfounded allegations circulating about the supposed apology.

The high-profile case began in August 2023 when May filed for divorce, demanding ₦100 million in damages from Judy Austin, whom Yul publicly acknowledged as his second wife in April 2022.
