Renowned Nollywood star Mary Njoku has spoken out against the controversial incident involving Ibom Air staff and passenger Comfort Emmanson.
The altercation, which led to Emmanson’s forcible removal from a flight and subsequent detention, has sparked widespread outrage.
Njoku condemned the airline’s actions as a shocking disrespect to the passenger’s basic human rights.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on Tuesday, the actress clarified that while she supports necessary passenger offloads, she vehemently opposes the alleged stripping and online sharing of the footage.
“Removing her from the flight might be justifiable—but the real crime is humiliating her, stripping her bare, and exposing it to the world,” she expressed.
“Airport personnel undergo professional training. There’s no scenario where degrading a woman, violating her privacy, and publicizing it aligns with any protocol, regardless of her alleged offense,” Njoku argued.
She demanded justice for Emmanson, insisting on compensation for the “irreparable harm inflicted on her dignity and personal life.”
