Authorities have confirmed the identity of the victim in a fatal East London shooting as 42-year-old Masum Miah.
Emergency services located Miah suffering from gunshot wounds inside a car on St Bartholomew’s Road in East Ham. Officers were alerted to the incident after reports of gunfire surfaced around 3 a.m. on Tuesday.
Medics attempted life-saving measures, but Miah was pronounced dead shortly after at the location.
As of now, no suspects have been taken into custody, and law enforcement continues to pursue leads in the case.
Investigators urge witnesses who were near the area during the time of the incident—or anyone with relevant information—to contact them immediately.
The Metropolitan Police are particularly interested in any available dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage that could assist in piecing together the events.
Support services have been extended to Miah’s grieving relatives during this difficult time.
