A tragic incident has claimed the life of 25-year-old Hammed Usman Tunde, who was fatally st@bbed by his friend, Gafar.

The unfortunate event unfolded during a heated argument over a girlfriend in Kwara State. 

Reports indicate that the altercation occurred on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the Oja Gboro area of Ilorin. The two friends reportedly clashed while purchasing sugarcane from a Hausa vendor.

Witnesses recall that the verbal confrontation escalated into violence, with the 21-year-old suspect, Gafar, allegedly plunging a knife into Tunde’s chest.

The victim, who resided in Ile-Soro 2, Oja Gboro Isale Koko, Ilorin, was swiftly taken to a private hospital before being transferred to the General Hospital, Ilorin, where he was declared d3ad on arrival.

The suspect, a native of Ile Olowo in the same vicinity, is said to have fled the scene immediately after the attack. His current location, along with that of his family, remains unknown.

In an interview with Sobi FM, the deceased’s sister expressed her grief, urging the state government and law enforcement agencies to ensure justice prevails. She described her brother as a peaceful individual who did not deserve such a brutal end.

Tunde was laid to rest today in accordance with Islamic rites at their family home in Ile-Soro 2, Oja Gboro, Isale Koko, Ilorin.
