Afrobeat sensation Made Kuti, the esteemed grandson of iconic musician Fela Kuti, has fired back at critics questioning his union with wife Inedoye Onyenso.
The couple exchanged vows at an intimate civil wedding in Lagos last November, sparking unwarranted controversy among tribal bigots.
Facing backlash over their interethnic marriage, Kuti clapped back at X user @AdemolaOgudu, who insulted him for marrying outside his Yoruba heritage. “Ethnic supremacy is the mindset of the enslaved,” Kuti retorted.
He challenged detractors to study the revolutionary legacies of trailblazers like Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, Fela Kuti, Kwame Nkrumah, and Thomas Sankara—stressing that Africa’s strength lies in unity, not division.
The musician emphasized that progress flourishes when cultural boundaries dissolve.
