Popular comedian and activist Mr Macaroni has firmly rejected the idea of venturing into Nigerian politics, stating that the toxic political environment often tarnishes even the most honorable individuals.
In a widely circulated video, he opened up about the exhausting reality of being a voice for the people, only to face backlash from the same citizens he fights for.
He expressed frustration over being labeled an agitator despite advocating for societal reforms, while many Nigerians remain indifferent to systemic issues.
Witnessing the degradation of once-respected figures who entered politics has reinforced his decision to stay away from public office.
He lamented how political power has led admired personalities to abandon their principles and ruin their hard-earned reputations.
Rather than inspiring hope, Nigerian politics, he stated, only fills him with disillusionment.
Mr Macaroni also called out the short-lived activism among Nigerians, particularly regarding economic struggles.
Using fuel price hikes as an example, he observed that public outrage fades within days, allowing oppressive policies to go unchallenged.
He further criticized the misplaced pride in surviving harsh conditions, arguing that endurance should not be mistaken for success.
While acknowledging Nigeria’s resilience, he emphasized that thriving, not just surviving, should be the ultimate goal.
