Natasha Akide, the ex-Big Brother Naija sensation widely recognized as Tacha, has voiced her frustration, stating that Nigerian women often face unfair scrutiny and victim-blaming.
Her remarks came in response to public reactions surrounding actress Regina Daniels’ recent allegations of assault, condemning those who dismissed the claims rather than demanding justice.
Taking to her X platform, Tacha expressed, “In this society, being a woman sometimes feels like punishment.
“When an individual bravely shares a traumatic experience, the focus shifts to her lifestyle instead of addressing the crime. Since when did wealth equate to consent?
“The normalization of violence against women while resenting their success exposes deep societal flaws.
What message does this send to young girls? That their worth is negotiable?
“The cycle of silencing victims must end.
#StandWithWomen #JusticeForRegina.”
Former BBNaija champion Phyna also weighed in, condemning the mockery surrounding Daniels’ ordeal.
“A woman speaks about her assault and hospitalization, yet people joke? The struggle of womanhood in Nigeria is real,” she posted on X.
