Liquorose

Popular Nigerian dancer and BBNaija star Roseline Omokhoa Afije, professionally called Liquorose, has opened up about her journey to the reality show, revealing it wasn’t smooth sailing.

The entertainer shared that despite being shortlisted for the 2020 season, she was shockingly cut at the last minute, leaving her devastated.

Liquorose almost lost hope after being fully prepared backstage during the launch only to be excluded without explanation.

“I was backstage during the premiere in 2020—complete with makeup and my outfit—but my name was never called. That rejection crushed me,” she confessed on VJ Adams’ podcast.

The dancer, alongside Jaypaul, was initially denied entry into the 2020 edition after testing positive for COVID-19 right before the show.

Determined to bounce back, she returned for another audition in 2021 despite lingering self-doubt from her past disappointment.

Liquorose admitted she nearly skipped the audition entirely but was encouraged by a close friend to try one last time.

“The previous rejection haunted me. I didn’t even want to attempt it again until my friend pushed me. Then I found the selection email buried in my spam folder—unbelievable,” she recounted.

The talented performer went on to become the first runner-up in BBNaija’s sixth season, narrowly losing to Whitemoney.
