Inter Miami skipper, Lionel Messi, has responded following their 4-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup Round of 16 clash.
The match took place on Sunday night.
With this result, Inter Miami bows out of the tournament, while PSG advances to the quarter-finals, where they will meet Bayern Munich.
Joao Neves scored twice, while Tomas Aviles (own goal) and Achraf Hakimi added one each to seal PSG’s win over Inter Miami.
In response, Messi took to Instagram to encourage his team to refocus on the Major League Soccer (MLS) and upcoming challenges.
The Argentine captain also shared his happiness at reuniting with former PSG teammates.
Messi departed PSG in 2023 after two seasons to join Inter Miami.
“Our Club World Cup journey ends today with a loss to the Champions League winners—great to see familiar faces I hold in high regard,” Messi posted on Instagram.
“Proud of our progress to the top 16. Now, all focus shifts to MLS and what lies ahead.”
