The 17-year-old, an ardent admirer of Messi, has received praise from the Argentine legend himself.
Yamal shared his thoughts on the GOAT discussion during a press conference at an event in China.
He emphasized his conviction that the former Barcelona icon stands unrivaled in football history.
As reported by Barca Universal, Yamal stated, “In my view, Messi is the greatest player to ever grace the sport.
“From his incredible performances across the pitch to every aspect of his game, I’ve admired it all—it’s been truly mesmerizing to witness.”
Yamal could very well find himself among the nominees for the 2025 Ballon d’Or, potentially following in Messi’s footsteps.
