Nollywood star Laide Bakare has expressed dismay over the online conduct of certain fans and industry peers following the tragic passing of actress Allwell Ademola.
Bakare lamented that many seemed more preoccupied with generating social media buzz than honoring the late filmmaker’s memory.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, she revealed her disappointment upon seeing individuals close to Ademola engaging in frivolous online activities shortly after her death.
The actress condemned such behavior as insensitive and inappropriate.
Her post read: “It’s heartbreaking to witness how people are exploiting our sister’s demise for content creation 😔.
“God sees all. Sleep well, Allwell. I’m still in disbelief—some of her closest friends were on TikTok yesterday, playing games and accepting virtual gifts 🎁!
“This world is truly shocking!”
She concluded with, “If you recognize them, tag them—let them reflect 🥲.”
The Nigerian film industry mourned the loss of Allwell Ademola, who passed away on December 27 at age 49.
