Kirk Franklin

Renowned gospel icon Kirk Franklin is breaking barriers once again, this time diving into heartfelt discussions about love, acceptance, and dismantling societal prejudices—particularly regarding s£xuality.

In a deeply personal interview, Franklin spoke openly about his son Kerrion, emphasizing that his child’s bis£xuality has never been a point of contention for him.

“Homophobia has never made sense to me,” he confessed. “Every person deserves love and respect. That’s the core of who I am.”

He stressed that parenting isn’t about conformity—it’s about unwavering support and unconditional love.

“I made a promise to my son: no matter what, my love for him will never waver. Whoever he loves, I’ll embrace. Wherever he stands, I’ll stand beside him. He’s my child, and nothing will ever change that.”

Franklin also challenged the unrealistic expectations placed on religious leaders, asserting that faith shouldn’t erase humanity.

“Just because I sing gospel music doesn’t mean I stop being human,” he declared. “I embrace my imperfections, and I extend that same grace to my family—especially my son.”

The Grammy-winning artist didn’t shy away from critiquing the hypocrisy often directed at the LGBTQ+ community.

“If being gay is considered sinful, then so is lying, cheating, or divorce. Sin is sin—none outweighs another. Why do we single out one group for condemnation? We all fall short and need compassion.”

Reflecting on his youth, Franklin recalled facing scrutiny over his own s£xuality due to his passion for fashion and the arts. Yet, he remained authentic while treating others with kindness.

“Compassion has always been my guiding principle. That’s non-negotiable,” he affirmed.
