Nigerian music star Kingsley Okonkwo, popularly known as Kcee, has revealed the secret behind his unwavering success in the ever-evolving music industry.
The “Limpopo” hitmaker emphasized that his resilience sets him apart—instead of backing down after a flop, he doubles down by creating even more music.
During a candid conversation on the Selah Meditate podcast, Kcee highlighted that persistence breeds opportunity:
“Some artists drop one track, and if it doesn’t click, they retreat. Not me.
I’ll drop 20, 30 songs—who knows which one will be the game-changer? It’s all about staying in the game.”
Despite facing countless setbacks, Kcee noted that his confident public persona often masks his struggles, making it seem like he’s always on top.
He also credited his mindset for his rise from humble beginnings, sharing a powerful anecdote:
“Back in Ajegunle, when people asked where we lived, we’d say Ikeja. We weren’t lying—we were speaking our future into existence.”
And sure enough, they eventually conquered Ikeja, turning their dreams into reality.
“I can drop 20 songs. The 21st might just be the one.”
