Controversial music icon Kanye West has once again extended an olive branch to the Jewish community, expressing regret over his previous inflammatory statements targeting Jews.
Titled “To Those I Have Hurt,” the heartfelt mea culpa appeared as a full-page paid advertisement in Monday’s print edition of The Wall Street Journal.
In his statement, the hip-hop mogul revealed that undiagnosed brain trauma from a 1999 vehicular accident significantly impacted his behavior and emotional regulation.
The apology notice, explicitly marked as a sponsored content piece financed by his Yeezy brand, contained startling medical revelations about the artist’s health struggles.
“My 1999 car accident resulted in a fractured jaw and undetected frontal lobe damage that went unexamined for decades,” West disclosed.
“At the time, neither advanced imaging nor thorough neurological evaluations were conducted. This diagnostic failure had catastrophic consequences for my psychological well-being, ultimately contributing to my bipolar type-1 condition,” he explained.
This latest outreach follows widespread condemnation from Jewish advocacy groups, including StopAntisemitism, which had previously dismissed his initial 2021 apology as insufficient.
