Actress Olayode Juliana, widely recognized for her role as “Toyo Baby,” has firmly dismissed rumors of a feud with colleague Funke Akindele, insisting their bond remains strong.
In a chat with BBC Pidgin, she praised Akindele, calling her a mentor and inspiration. “Funke is someone I admire greatly—a phenomenal woman who has guided me in this industry. Our connection is unshaken,” she shared.
Describing their dynamic, Olayode likened it to family. “She’s like a mother figure to me on set and beyond. No drama, no issues—just pure mutual respect.”
The actress also reaffirmed her stance on avoiding on-screen kissing, citing personal convictions. “I won’t compromise my values for a role unless it’s with my future spouse, and even then, I’d prefer not to marry an actor,” she stated bluntly.
Reflecting on her early career, she admitted criticism once weighed heavily. “Negative comments used to break me, but I’ve grown a thicker skin. Now? Unless it’s a real confrontation, I won’t even blink.”
Beyond acting, Olayode advocates for a holistic view of purity. “It’s not just about abstinence—it’s integrity in all areas: finances, work, leadership. True purity shapes every part of life.”
