Pretty Mike

A Federal High Court in Lagos has temporarily seized a high-profile nightclub owned by flamboyant socialite Pretty Mike following allegations of illegal drug distribution on the premises.

Presiding Judge Musa Kakaki approved the interim forfeiture on Tuesday after reviewing an ex parte application submitted by NDLEA prosecutor Buhari Abdulahi.

The contested property, Proxy Lagos Night Club at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, was allegedly found storing 169 cylinders (384.662 kg) of nitrous oxide—commonly known as laughing gas—alongside 200 grams of cannabis sativa.

Court documents reveal the establishment is co-owned by Mike Nwalie (widely known as Pretty Mike) and Joachim Hillary, who investigators claim were orchestrating a “massive narcotics-fueled event.”

In his October 27, 2025 motion, Abdulahi petitioned the court to declare the venue a “criminal instrument” under NDLEA statutes and freeze all business operations during the ongoing probe.

The prosecutor emphasized the necessity of preserving evidence, assuring the court that the temporary seizure wouldn’t cause undue hardship to involved parties.

Supporting affidavits from NDLEA Deputy Commander Nasiru Garba Bungudu detailed how tactical operatives raided the nightclub after midnight on October 26, 2025, following intelligence about planned drug activities.

The operation reportedly led to the arrest of over 200 individuals—including the owners—and seizure of substances later confirmed as controlled narcotics through forensic testing.

Investigators further alleged the venue had served as an ongoing narcotics distribution hub with management’s full awareness.

Justice Kakaki’s ruling immediately transferred custody of the property to federal authorities and prohibited all commercial activities until the January 28, 2026 hearing date.
