Joe Cole

Ex-Chelsea player Joe Cole believes Paris Saint-Germain’s Vitinha should clinch the Ballon d’Or this year, surpassing his teammate Ousmane Dembele in the race for the prestigious award.

Cole highlighted Vitinha’s dominant performance in the Champions League final last season, where PSG faced Inter Milan, as a key reason for his endorsement.

The retired English midfielder stated, as reported by TNT Sports: “Dembele deserves consideration, but Vitinha’s midfield mastery stood out.

“It’s refreshing to see recognition beyond just goal-scorers.

“Vitinha controlled the game in the Champions League final from midfield.

“I admire his playstyle and believe he’s a strong contender for the Ballon d’Or.”

Both Vitinha and Dembele are anticipated to feature prominently in the 2025 Ballon d’Or discussions due to their outstanding contributions for PSG and their national teams over the past year.
