Austin Jay Jay Okocha, the celebrated Nigerian football icon, recently welcomed Clemens Westerhof, ex-coach of the Super Eagles, to his Lagos home.
Uploading images of their reunion on Instagram, Westerhof fondly referred to the occasion as a “cherished memory,” applauding Okocha’s gracious hosting.
Westerhof, hailing from the Netherlands, led Nigeria’s national squad between 1989 and 1994.
During his tenure, the Super Eagles clinched their second AFCON championship in 1994 and debuted at the FIFA World Cup that year, remarkably conquering a group featuring Argentina, Bulgaria, and Greece.

Okocha began his international career under Westerhof’s guidance, evolving into one of Nigeria’s most legendary players.
