Chart-topping artist Jason Derulo, whose full name is Jason Joel Desrouleaux, recently opened up about his unexpected journey in love, confessing that life hasn’t unfolded as he once predicted.
The Grammy-nominated performer shared that he never anticipated being unmarried at 37, admitting his younger self assumed he’d be settled down by now.
During a heartfelt conversation with Graham Bensinger, the versatile entertainer behind global hits like “Savage Love” explained how real-life experiences reshaped his views on long-term relationships.
Derulo revealed that witnessing numerous fractured relationships and dramatic public breakups among celebrities made him increasingly wary of commitment.
“I genuinely believed I’d marry several of my past partners,” the multi-platinum artist reflected. “At 37, I never imagined I’d still be navigating single life.”
“But I’ve become skeptical after everything I’ve observed—wives abruptly leaving husbands, relationships combusting in public spaces. I’ve witnessed every possible romantic scenario unfold around me,” he added with candor.
The performer’s notable three-year romance with Jordin Sparks ended in 2014, while his more recent relationship with model Jena Frumes produced a son before dissolving shortly after the birth in匠 2021.
