Olakunle Olusegun has shared his immense joy after earning his maiden invitation to the Super Eagles.
The 23-year-old was a late addition to the squad by head coach Eric Chelle for the forthcoming friendly against Russia, as several established players withdrew due to injuries and personal issues.
Olusegun had an outstanding season with Russian club Krasnodar, contributing to their league title victory.
The forward participated in the Super Eagles’ training session on Tuesday night in Moscow.
The former Golden Eaglets star described his Super Eagles call-up as the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.
“Every footballer aspires to represent their country,” he told the Super Eagles media.
“Being part of the Super Eagles now is both a privilege and an honor—it’s not just about my ability or performance.”
