Nollywood Crew Members

Initial autopsy reports for the two film crew members found deceased at a movie set in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, have dismissed food poisoning as the cause of death.

Investigations revealed that Walter Odediran, a 36-year-old cinematographer, had an empty stomach at the time of death, while his longtime friend Godstime Imeh, a lighting director and CEO of GeeTee Light, showed minimal traces of food in his system.

The pair were discovered lifeless inside Imeh’s Nissan car on February 7, 2026, parked near Evercare Hospital, where a film production was underway.

Medical examiners reportedly found negligible food content in the victims’ digestive tracts, raising further questions about the circumstances leading to their deaths.

“One stomach was completely empty, while the other had only traces of food—almost as if he hadn’t eaten in hours,” an insider disclosed to Vanguard.

Authorities have ordered comprehensive toxicology and histology analyses to detect potential exposure to hazardous substances before their demise.

Kola Odediran, elder brother of the late cinematographer, confirmed receiving preliminary autopsy findings on February 18, stating: “The examination showed no food residue in my brother’s system. While the autopsy is complete, we await further toxicology reports for conclusive answers.”

Results from these advanced tests are anticipated within two to three weeks as grieving families seek clarity on this perplexing tragedy.
