Ex-Super Eagles forward Odion Ighalo has advised Victor Osimhen on the best step for his professional journey.

Ighalo suggests Osimhen should consider a transfer to the Saudi Pro League to secure significant earnings.

Osimhen’s plans remain unclear after Napoli reportedly turned down a €75 million bid from Galatasaray. The prolific striker netted 37 goals in 41 matches during his loan spell, proving vital to the team’s achievements.

Despite his standout contributions and Napoli’s desire to keep him, questions linger about his next destination.

Addressing the matter, Ighalo, speaking with Echo Room, urged Osimhen to focus on financial benefits by heading to Saudi Arabia before potentially returning to Europe later.

“My recommendation to Victor Osimhen is to spend two years in Saudi Arabia and earn well. After that, he can still pursue European football,” Ighalo remarked.

The ex-Manchester United star referenced his own path—transitioning to China before an unexpected comeback to Europe with United at age 30.

“I spent three years in China, then returned to Manchester United. Many doubted it because I was already 30.

“Victor Osimhen is 26 now. In two years, he’d be 28—still young enough for five more years in Europe if he chooses.”

Ighalo’s perspective highlights the increasing appeal of the Saudi League among elite players seeking high-paying deals before resuming their European careers.
