Nollywood actress Onyi Alex has publicly responded to the decision of prominent Igbo business leaders to endorse President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
This development follows the visible alignment of influential figures like Obi Cubana, Chiefpriest, and Zenco with the City Boys Movement, which allegedly operates under Seyi Tinubu’s leadership.
The move sparked heated discussions across social media, particularly among southeasterners questioning the motives behind such political affiliations.
In a candid Instagram story, Onyi Alex voiced her frustration over what she perceives as a growing trend of betrayal within her ethnic community.
Drawing a stark parallel to biblical history, she remarked that if Judas Iscariot—known for betraying Jesus—were alive today, he would likely be Igbo, emphasizing the depth of her dismay.
She also highlighted escalating security challenges in the Southeast, noting that many Igbos now avoid road travel to the region due to safety concerns.
The actress revealed that affluent individuals increasingly resort to private aviation for visits, unable to rely on conventional transport.
Despite these pressing issues, she criticized continued support for what she labeled a misguided political agenda.
Alex concluded with a sobering reflection, suggesting that Igbo collaborators might eventually discover limited acceptance among their new allies. reagues
Her post read: “Judas must have been Igbo—the betrayal is becoming routine. It’s tragic that southeasterners can’t safely journey home anymore. Even millionaires now fly private to avoid highways.
“And yet, some still champion this sinking ship. Those who trade their people’s trust will learn they’ve gained nothing in return.”
