Wizkid

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, the global Afrobeats icon better recognized as Wizkid, has voiced his aspirations for transformative leadership in Nigeria and throughout Africa.

During the debut of his documentary “Wizkid: Long Live Lagos” at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, the Starboy CEO highlighted governance as a critical factor for progress, urging African nations to prioritize it.

He also inspired fellow African artists to amplify their narratives through art, reaffirming his unwavering optimism for the continent despite existing leadership challenges.

In his words, “Every African artist deserves a platform to share their journey like this. My story isn’t unique—we all come from the same grind. Everyone should have this opportunity.”

“I dream of greater victories for our culture—music, film, sports—and most importantly, better governance. No matter what, I stay hopeful. I want nothing but success for every African creating incredible art and music.”
