Kcee

Kingsley Okonkwo, the celebrated Nigerian music star widely known as Kcee, has opened up about the speculated feud with fellow artist Flavour.

Fans may recall the online tension in 2024 when Flavour made subtle remarks about someone allegedly imitating his musical style, prompting Kcee to respond with strong words.

Kcee confronted Flavour for attempting to monopolize Igbo cultural music and asserted that he entered the industry long before him.

During a recent interview with Yanga FM Lagos, Kcee revealed that his first encounter with Flavour happened years ago when talent manager Soso Soberekon introduced him to sign with his label.

The “Limpopo” hitmaker admitted that he declined the opportunity to sign Flavour, as he didn’t recognize his potential at the time.

Kcee believes their disagreement stems more from ego than past rejection, suggesting some peers underestimate him because he doesn’t boast about his achievements.

“The real issue isn’t about rejection. When people assume you won’t rise to a certain level and then you exceed their expectations, it creates tension. I was already thriving with luxury cars before Flavour even came to Lagos.

“Soso brought him to me, but I didn’t see enough potential to sign him back then. That wasn’t personal—it was purely business. I doubt that’s why he has an issue with me.

“Many doubt my talent because I stay humble. I don’t feel the need to brag—my success speaks for itself. Some who once doubted me have even apologized and acknowledged their mistake,” Kcee stated.
