Nigerian music sensation Folarin Falana, widely recognized as Falz, has publicly dismissed rumors of any romantic link with controversial crossdresser Bobrisky.
The clarification surfaced as his legal feud with social media commentator VeryDarkMan continues to unfold.
Previously, VeryDarkMan (VDM) stirred controversy by allegedly leaking a private phone exchange between Falz and Bobrisky while the latter was incarcerated.
In retaliation, the “Bop Daddy” crooner initiated a defamation lawsuit against VDM, fueling online speculation about his personal life.
During a recent chat with Arise TV, Falz provided an update on the ongoing court proceedings, revealing that VDM has yet to formally respond to the allegations.
Addressing the Bobrisky rumors head-on, Falz firmly denied any prior connection, emphasizing he merely extended help as he would to others in need.
“Court proceedings are still active—we filed a defamation lawsuit, and instead of presenting a defense, the opposition challenged the court’s jurisdiction,” he disclosed.
The judge dismissed their objection, forcing VDM’s legal team to either counter the claims or face an unfavorable ruling.
Falz further explained, “I had zero prior ties with Bobrisky. He reached out on Instagram seeking assistance—a common occurrence for me. Out of goodwill, I engaged, unaware of the backlash it would trigger.”
Reflecting on the ordeal, he added wryly, “Lesson learned—think twice before helping strangers. But who knows? Maybe I’ll just be more cautious next time.”
