Controversy erupted when Delta State governor’s aide and social commentator, Mr. Jollof, clashed with online personality Very Dark Man (VDM) during a flight at Asaba International Airport on Monday, November 17.
Addressing the incident, Mr. Jollof expressed remorse in a video statement, acknowledging his regret over the public confrontation. He emphasized that his actions were purely defensive after VDM allegedly instigated the conflict.
Detailing the encounter, Jollof claimed VDM provoked him with aggressive remarks after receiving praise from other passengers. “If we land, I’ll slap you. May your father suffer. I could get up right now and hit you,” he quoted VDM as saying.
In response, Jollof stated he warned VDM to “Behave yourself,” but the situation escalated when VDM approached him mid-flight, leading to a physical scuffle.
Explaining his use of force, Jollof humorously referenced boxing legend Mike Tyson: “When you bring a knife to a gunfight, you take whatever comes your way.”
