Obinna Levi Ajuonuma, better known as DJ Obi, has revealed that his faith in marriage faded after experiencing heartbreak.
The celebrated Nigerian disc jockey shared this vulnerable admission during an episode of the Afropolitan podcast, where he spoke candidly about love, past regrets, and the isolation he feels at this stage of his life.
He explained that his perspective on marriage shifted due to personal missteps and poor decisions he made in his younger years.
“When I lost love, I also lost my belief in marriage,” he confessed.
DJ Obi acknowledged that he once deceived partners, emotionally distanced himself, and ignored warning signs—including a recurring family trend of men maintaining relationships with multiple women.
He also recognized how his fast-paced career and lifestyle took a toll on his romantic relationships and family dynamics.
“I crave constant energy in my home, but it’s not there. I miss the chaos of kids running around,” he reflected, speaking about his children, who now reside with their mothers.
Though he identifies as a Christian, he now prioritizes companionship over traditional marriage and continues to seek clarity through prayer.
