The groundbreaking artist confessed he’s completely abandoned chasing musical fads.
During a revealing conversation on Joey Akan’s Afrobeats Intelligence podcast, Shmurda unveiled his new mission: crafting conscious, soul-stirring music.
He passionately stated, “Honestly, I don’t consider myself part of that [secular] scene anymore. I’ve stopped creating music just to ride waves. Those trendy tracks? That’s not me now.
“My music has a higher calling – to awaken spirits, spark self-awareness, and guide listeners through life’s journey.
“I don’t see many artists walking this path. Sure, I might dabble in popular sounds occasionally, but my true purpose always pulls me back. That’s the perfect balance for me.”
